Research On The Public Open Space Of Shun Chengxiang In Xi’an Guided By Typology Theory

Urban public open space is a window to show the city’s image,and it plays an important role in city life.With the growth of the economy,the renewal and development of the city scale,the expansion of some humanoriented streets,the demolition of some buildings,the simple road network replacing the original humanoriented street space,and the disappearance of urban public open space features.Therefore,what is the characteristic of a public open space in a city? How to solve the existing problems and continue the space characteristic in the future development and renewal is a problem that should be considered in the urban space renewal and development.Typology is a popular method of studying cities and buildings in recent years.This thesis hopes to analyze and research the spatial types,characteristics and existing problems of public open space in Shuncheng alley through the perspective of urban typology and research methods,so as to provide reference data and suggestions for the renewal and development of urban public open space in the future.This thesis uses the method of urban typology of the European architect Rob Krier to study Xi’an Shuncheng alley and its surrounding public open space.In the first part of the thesis,I analyzes and studies Xi’an Shuncheng alley and its surrounding space,and summarizes the types of public open space in Shuncheng alley and surrounding areas.Afterwards,the eight spatial cases in the public open space of Shuncheng alley were selected for further analysis and research from the perspective of spatial form.The second part of the thesis,combined with the analysis of the first part of the space status of the Shuncheng alley and the study of eight spatial cases,uses the methods of the Krier’s urban typology,from the plane morphology,spatial profile,spatial interface and spatial combination Level to analysis and summarizes the types of space.The third part of the article,combining the research results of the first two parts,analyzes and summarizes the problems existing in the public open space of Shuncheng alley from the perspective of typology,and attempts to propose corresponding improvement strategies.Through the research methods of urban typology,this thesis analyzes and summarizes the space types of the public open space of Shuncheng alley on the four levels of plane morphology,spatial profile,spatial interface and spatial organization mode,and analyzes and summarizes the characteristic,existing problems and Corresponding ideas for improvement.The thesis hopes to explore the possibility of using typological research methods in the urban space of China through the typological study of public open space in Xi’an Shuncheng alley to provide references and new ideas for the renewal and development of urban space.
