Ports play an important role in today's national economy.Under the threaten of the earthquake,as the main buildings of ports,the quays' broken shall lead to serious consequences.Since the economic losses and the casualties have a direct relationship with port structures' collapse,seismic fragility analysis of quays is a core link to the estimation of seismic loss,as well as the basic link to the predicting the seismic damage.In this paper,the response surface method and the Monte Carlo Simulation are used to study the seismic fragility of gravity caisson quay wall.Firstly,using the new quays of Weihai Port for instance,the finite element models of gravity caisson quay wall are established on ANSYS.In the foundation of calculating various kinds of loads,the static analysis,pseudo static analysis as well as the timehistory analysis are used to calculate the reaction of caisson quay walls.The mechanical properties of gravity caisson quay walls are studied by the comparison among different analysis results.Secondly,the unit weight and friction angle of soil are selected as the parameter of wharf models;the seismic spectral acceleration and the duration of the ground motion are selected as the parameter of ground motion;and the dip angle of quays is selected as the seismic response.By central composite design method,the response surface equation which reflects the relationships among model parameters?earthquake ground motion parameters and earthquake response is built.Besides,the test of goodness of fit?the significance test of variables and equations,and the validity test of the nonexperimental points are done.Finally,single parameter seismic fragility curves and double parameters fragility surface of gravity caisson quay wall are calculated from the response surface equation by Monte Carlo simulation.Some conclusions are gotten by comparing the curves with the surface.
