The processing of thin-wall component has always been an industrial difficult problem,especially with the rapid development of the aviation industry,which brings about an increasing demand on such high quality component,particularly the stricter quality requirements in aero engines manufacturing.However,low stiffness and low vibrationresistance during the processing render poor quality and low precision of the final product.For the annular thin-wall plate that are widely used in aero engines,based on the analysis of the vibration suppression methods for thin-wall component and the characteristics of various dampers,the way of using eddy current damper(ECD)has been put forward.Dynamic model of the annular thin-wall plate and mechanics model of the ECD have been established respectively based on Kirchhoff's thin plate theory and Maxwell theory.On the basis of the two models,the vibration model of thin-wall plate based on ECD is constructed.To verify theoretical model and study the influence of related parameters on ECD,theoretical numerical calculation and finite element analysis(FEA)have been applied.The ability of ECD is verified through the comparison of the frequency response of thinwall plate with or without ECD by FEA software.The influence of the initial gap between the plate and the permanent magnet and the arrangement of the permanent magnet on ECD is analyzed by the thin-wall plate vibration experiment,the correctness of the theoretical model is verified by the result.Finally,through the turning experiment of thin-wall plate,the ECD is applied to the actual processing and its effectiveness is verified.The result shows that good vibration suppression effect and better surface quality of the thin-wall plate with ECD,which means a practical application and provides an effective solution for vibration suppression during the period of thin-wall workpiece manufacturing,and lays the foundation for further research in the future.
