Port Enterprises Logistics Cost Performance Evaluation Based On DEA

In recent years,the continuous development of economic globalization provides a broad space for development of port logistics,however,not only good opportunities port logistics enterprises are faced with,but also numerous puzzles and challenges.As capital-intensive and labor-intensive enterprises,port enterprises require specialized facilities and equipment,management and operations personnel to carry out such operations as material handling,processing,storage andetc.As a result,relatively high cost of logistics operations brings it to greater financial pressure.However,for a long time,the port enterprises mainlymeasure their performance in terms of throughput,which although pays attention to logistics costs,and does not use scientific methods to evaluate and analyze their logistics costs which provide data support for efficient reduce logistics costs.The main purpose of this paper,based on the costing data about port enterprises actual logistics operations types,is to construct port logistics performance evaluation model,which can be used for comprehensive evaluation and analysis on efficiency of logistics operations,to find logistics operations inefficient redundant links,to provide data support for the improvement of port logistics performance through evaluation and analysis.Firstly,it summarizes the research status of port logistics cost performance evaluation theories at home and abroad,proposes this issue called port logistics costs performance evaluation study,and sums up the research status of data envelopment analysis in the cost of logistics performance evaluation.Secondly,based on the basic concept of port logistics and the development process and basic activities of port logistics,it generally introduces port logistics costs accounting scope and performance evaluation methods and cost control principles.Then,combined with the T port's various logistics operations types and disclosed annual report data,it designsan index system on T port's logistics costs performance evaluation to conduct the T port's logistics operations efficiency comprehensive evaluation and analysis.Based on logistics costs data collected from T port company's 12 semi-annual datafrom 2010 to 2015,it constructs data envelopment analysis model,and use the software DEAP2.1 to solve and analyze solution results,as well as deeply analyzes the T port logistics operations efficiency and the appropriateness of the input-output scale in recent yearsrespectively from the views of the integrated technology effectiveness,pure technical effectiveness,and scale effectiveness.Finally,for invalid decision unit(second half of 2010,the first half of 2012,the second half of 2013,the pure technical efficiency value less than 1)an improved projection analysis is carried out,which calculates T port's resources input can be saved in logistics operations,and proposes improvement strategies for the analysis of T port's logistics operations efficiency.Finally,on this basis,it establishes multiple linear regression model on the cost factors of the Tianjin Port affecting the operating performance,and with software Evi ews8.0's calculation and analysis,we can find out loading and unloading operations ar e sensitive factors affecting the operating performance of the Tianjin Port,which can be targeted for the enterprise logistics cost control to provide a theoretical basis.
