As a new type of flexible grinding tool,electroplated diamond belt possesses many advantages,such as good grinding quality,high efficiency,good wear resistance,long life and low cost.It can be used grinding,grind and polishing for complicated surface of various hard brittle materials and difficult-to-machine material,such as ceramic,glass,monocrystalline silicon,polysilicon,synthetic material,aluminum alloy etc.Which has been widely used in the fields of automobile manufacturing,aerospace,engine blades,building materials,ceramic products etc.Automobile glass is a kind of typical hard and brittle material,it is very difficult of grinding edge,and the traditional grinding tools are faced with the problems of explosive edge,crack propagation,rough texture,poor surface quality,low processing efficiency and high cost.Therefore,this paper studied the grinding performance of electroplated diamond belt based on the edge-grinding of automotive glass,the main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The feasibility of grinding edge on toughened glass for automobile using abrasive belt was analyzed.The material removal way on different deformation regions of glass material under the effect of diamond abrasive grain extrusion was analyzed through theoretical calculation from the point of view of stress field,and established a grinding removal distribution model of glass material under the circumstance of small confining pressure and small cut depth.(2)The grinding performance of electroplated diamond belt was optimized.On the one hand,the grinding quality,weight loss,grinding life and wear index of abrasive belt are taken as evaluation indexes,the type of diamond and the formula of metal coating were studied;On the other hand,the structural parameters of abrasive belt,such as diamond grain size,chip clearance,matrix thickness and coating thickness ratio were analyzed through orthogonal test,and the abrasive belt structure suitable for grinding edge on tempered glass was obtained.(3)The abrasive belt grinding process for grinding edge on tempered glass was studied.The effects of grinding pressure,abrasive belt speed and abrasive belt tensioning force on grinding quality and grinding efficiency were studied by single factor experiment;the process parameters was optimized through orthogonal test,and the best combination of process parameters was obtained;the microscopic morphology of grinding surface under different technological parameters was observed and analyzed by stereoscopic microscope.(4)A theoretical prediction model for roughness of grinding process parameters was established.The roughness prediction model was established based on multiple linear regression analysis and orthogonal test results,and on this basis,the sensitivity model of roughness factors was deduced,the stability domain,the unstable region and the preferred interval of the process parameters were obtained by sensitivity analysis.Finally,the roughness theory prediction model was verified and error analysis was carried out.(5)The wear mechanism of the diamond belt was analyzed in the light of the abrasive belt wear in the grinding process.The effects of grinding pressure,belt speed,diamond size and the concentration and flow of grinding fluid on the wear ofabrasive belt were studied.
