China has advanced hydropower engineering technology,but in the process of entering the international hydropower market,because of the internal contractor and designer’s using the domestic standards which are different with the international standards,the design and construction of hydropower projects could have been hampered,in other words,China’s standars is appropriate for our designation and construction but not for the whole world.The recognition and promotion of domestic standards in the international market can solve this problem,and concentration on its applicability to international projects is necessary,which means not only we make the international engineerings successful but also make our standards international.China’s entering the international hydropower market is later than Europe and the United States,domestic standards’ widely recognized and further promotion need international projects as examples to be summed up,and concenrating on differences between these standards Make evaluation for the differences and this is helpful for making China’s standards,or China Code a international standards.This research focuses on the requirements for the control of temperature in mass concrete or dam’s concrete structure which involved in China and International hydropower market’s standards.In China,hydraulic structure designation and construction standards both put forward detailed requirements and methods in this aspect.In America,ACI Committee Reports which show the calculation of temperature rise in mass concrete also make relevant requirements.In Europe,the standards there called Eurocode dose not make clear comments on the control of temperature in mass concrete or dam’s concrete structure.Based on the designation of temperature control for typical dam in SOUAPITI hydropower station,comparasion between China’s hydraulic structure designation and construction standards and ACI Committee Report is made in this three aspects: the simulation and control standards of dam,or mass concrete’s temperature field,the internal and surface temperature control methods.With the comparison of the relevant provisions in each standard,the differences in the temperature control standards and methods between China’s standard and ACI Committee Report are detailedly described combining the simulation results of the typical dam section during the whole period of construction to operation.The influence on temperature and stress development in the period of construction and operation with theirs distribution on the dam caused by these differences is studied in depth according to the analsys of simulation results for typical dam in SOUAPITI hydropower station.After the evaluation of the difference in temperature control standards for dam or mass concrete,combined with the analsys of simulation results in SOUAPITI hydropower station,suggestions on additions and complements for making China’s standard evolved to China Code are proposed.
