Excellent buildings should not only have reasonable architectural features,good artistic effect,but also need to ensure safety,economy and practicability,which requires the combination of architecture and structure.The morphogenesis method is an effective tool to create a new type of architectural form.Single-layer grid structure is one of the common structural forms of space structure.And the ruled surface has the unique architectural performance,which also reduces the construction difficulty and project cost.Thus,ruled-surface grid shells are chosen to be the structure of this study.Based on the geometry of ruled surfaces,the architectural requirements and the optimization of structural performance,this paper studies the morphogenesis method of ruled surface grid shells.Though the numerical example,we discuss the improvement of structural shape and mechanical properties,and summarize the characteristics and effectiveness of the method.First of all,in order to maximum the architectural effect,B-spline curve is used to generate the ruled surface conductor.And on this basis,further study of the ruled surface structure creation method is built.A variety of splicing,cutting and other means of construction is built to achieve the diversification of the initial model.Secondly,on the basis of satisfying the space constraints,the critical points of the B-spline curve are taken as the design variables,and the minimization of strain energy is chosen to be the evaluation function.Thus,the mathematical model of morphogenesis method is built.In this paper,the strain energy sensitivity of critical points is derived,with which we built the morphogenesis method of ruled surface grid shells.And a versatile calculation program based on Fortran language is complied.At last,several simulation projects under different construction boundaries and various conditions are analyzed to further discuss the characteristics of the method as well as the shape and mechanical properties of the results.The influence of the determination of the design variables on the results is analyzed,and the change regulation of the structural shape and force performance during evolution is further discussed.Based on the engineering simulation example,the features of operation meanings in practical engineering are explored.To sum up,this paper studies the morphogenesis method of rules surface grid shells,which is clear and effective.By building an organic combination of architecture,structure,construction,we generate a structural form with beautiful appearance,reasonable force-bearing performance and convenience of construction,which shares important reference value in determines of the architectural form in the design stage.
