With the rapid development of urbanization, buried cables have been widely used.Due to the relatively backward management of underground cables by people at early years, the location of underground cables is incomplete or inaccurate.it often happens that engineers cut or damage cables during construction, which has a great influence on people's production and life. Therefore, intelligent and efficient cable path detectors have become an urgent need for engineers and related managers. In the era of rapid development of electronic technology, chips continue to move toward high levels of integration and high performance. At the same time, which is in return for increased operating frequencies and faster switching speeds,a large number of highly integrated chips and high-speed circuits make hardware systems Signal integrity issues are becoming more and more obvious. How to ensure the quality of signal transmission in high-speed systems and avoid signal distortion is an issue that hardware engineers must pay attention to.At first, the basic electromagnetic induction principle and the magnetic field distribution characteristics of buried cables are studied in this thesis, and a method for measuring the position of buried cables by using a combination of multiple coils are proposed. The coil is improved and the differential coil with better anti-interference is used.A multi-frequency output mode based on transmitter is proposed for the difference of transmission of high frequency and low frequency signals in the medium.Secondly, the transmitter hardware system based on ARM platform and the receiver hardware system based on DSP platform are built. The transmitter adopts ARM microprocessor as the control core, combines DDS signal generator and PWM modulation technology, and achieves signal amplification through class D amplifier circuit. The receiver uses the coil as a magnetic sensor. The signal acquisition circuit and the signal conditioning circuit are used to filter and amplify the voltage signal in the coil, and the position information of the cable is obtained through A/D sampling and digital signal processing technology. And then, this thesis uses Hyper Lynx simulation software for reflection, crosstalk, and EMC analysis of high-speed signals in hardware systems. The signal integrity issues that exist in the system are optimized for termination and routing strategies. From the simulation results,it is seen that after optimization, the quality of the signal has obviously improved. Finally, the experimental results show that the hardware system of the transmitter and receiver designed in this thesis satisfies the functional design requirements and can quickly and accurately detect the position of the buried cable.
