The High-speed centrifugal fuel pump is one kind of widely used fluid machinery, which plays a important role in aviation, aerospace, energy, and transportation equipment. However, the problems of rotational stall, vibration and efficiency decrease of fuel pumps caused by cavitation restrict its research and development. In this paper, the cavitation characteristics of fuel pumps are studied, and the influence of important structural and operating parameters on the cavitation performance of fuel pump is analyzed.Firstly, the hydraulic design and three-dimensional modeling of the high-speed centrifugal fuel pump are carried out according to the specific technical parameters;secondly, the cavitation characteristics of the internal flow field of the fuel pump are numerically studied by using ANSYS CFX based on the RNG-k turbulence model and cavitation model of cavitation dynamic equation. The characteristic curves of fuel pump in cavitation-free and cavitation-free states are obtained, and the pressure and cavitation distribution in the flow field of fuel pump are analyzed in detail. Then, the influence of structural parameters(blade number and blade inlet angle)and operating parameters(speed and temperature)on the internal flow field are studied. Finally, the impeller structure parameters were optimized based on the design parameters of the original fuel pump, and the cavitation performance of the fuel pump before and after optimization were analyzed under the same temperature and rotational speed conditions. The results show that the cavitation performance of the optimized fuel pump has been greatly improved, which verifies the accuracy of the study on the cavitation characteristics of the fuel pump.In this paper, the cavitation of high-speed centrifugal fuel pump is numerically studied, and the correlations between the key structural and operating parameters and the pressure and bubble distribution in the fuel pump are obtained, which provides theoretical support for the development and application of high-speed centrifugal fuel pumps.
