In recent years,the rapid development of China's railway industry has put forward new requirements for rail transit equipment manufacturing,especially on the application of virtual technology in rail transit equipment manufacturing,When 3D models of vehicle parts is generated through design software,the efficiency of the model in the design and production process is not good because of their large size and complex structure,which will limit the application of virtual reality technology and not be conducive to the development of rail transit equipment manufacturing industry.To solve the problems,this thesis proposed two models of lightweight algorithms and designed a lightweight software platform.Firstly,this thesis demonstrated the necessity of lightweight model processing by analyzing the current status of smart manufacturing,lightweight models and the characteristics of rail vehicle component models.Secondly,the theory of computer graphics application in 3D modeling is discussed.Furthermore according to the characteristics of rail vehicle parts,two modeling tools and 3ds Max CATIA,are selected for parameterized and modular model design.Then the format of the generated model file is analyzed.Thirdly,on the basis of synthetically analyzing the classical algorithm of model lightweight and the error measurement standard,aiming at the characteristics of many sharp edges and surface features in the local area of the rail vehicle parts model,At the same time,considering the quality and simplification efficiency of the vehicle component model,a triangle neighborhood analysis algorithm and a surface smoothness analysis algorithm based on quadratic error measure are proposed,both of which can realize the lightweight of the model.Improved simplification effect.Then,in Visual Studio 2010 integrated development environment,The vehicle parts 3D model lightweight software is designed and implementationed,which is used C/C + +language and OpenGL.This platform can complete the model data import,smooth processing,algorithm operation and other functions.Finally,the lightweight software platform designed in this paper is used to test the model,and the lightweight effect diagram,error,running time and other data are obtained.The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model lightweight algorithm are verified by comparing and analyzing the data of the three algorithms through using Matlab software,and the practicability of the lightweight software platform designed in this paper is demonstrated.Adopting two improved methods to lighten the model can promote the development of virtual factories and virtual manufacturing,which have important practical application value to the rail transit equipment manufacturing industry.
