The man-made objects extraction accuracy has greatly improved with the higher spatial resolution and increasingly abundant information in remote sensing images.As the main man-made land,road is the material basis for traffic formation,and is the guarantee for fast and accurate extraction of road information and electronic information of roads.Therefore,using high resolution remote sensing images has important practical value for its extraction research.In this paper,the research of asphalt pavement condition is divided into the following steps:First,the optimal scale model and SEaTH algorithm were used to construct a road information extraction method based on high-resolution remote sensing images,and the road vectors in the images has obtained.Second,according to the collected spectral data,the feature spectrum was analyzed.Principal component analysis and other methods were used to obtain the discrimination between roads of different materials and the discrimination between spectrums of asphalt pavement at different time.These distinctions can provide scientific basis for the selection of road information extraction rules in remote sensing images.The health spectral index of asphalt pavement was then built by the characteristics analysis of pavement spectrum.Finally,the extracted road vectors were used to obtain the health spectral index of asphalt pavement on Jingcheng expressway.Compared with the road PCI data,a monitoring model of road condition was established based on the remote sensing images.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)An efficient information extraction method was proposed,which has high extraction accuracy,good quality and is applicable to a wide range of road extraction.But the spectral information has a great influence on the extraction accuracy of this method.(2)The values of the spectral reflectance were quite different for cement concrete,sand road surface and asphalt concrete road surface.The spectral reflectance for the asphalt pavement at different time becomes large with the increase of time.The first-order derivative reflectance for the cement concrete was quite different from that of the other two kinds of pavements,and the first-order derivatives of reflectance for asphalt pavements at different time were basically the same.(3)The health spectrum index of asphalt pavement was constructed by the spectral characteristics of the asphalt road surface.The health spectrum indices include the Difference health index(DHI),the Ratio health index(RHI),the Normalized difference health index(NDHI),and the Logarithmic health index(LHI).(4)The asphalt pavement condition index PCI has strong linear correlation with the asphalt pavement health spectral index DHI,RHI,but has weak correlation with LHI and NDHI index.There was a certain difference between the monitoring models of road using conditions at different usage times.But a correction factor can be found to correct it,so that the prediction model of road using condition at different usage times can be improved.
