Busbar is an important component of power system.Bus bar is used to connect important power equipment such as transformer,transmission line and capacitor.It has important function of collecting and distributing electric energy.The failure of bus bar needs to quickly and reliably disconnect all the components connected,and reduce the scope of the fault,so as to ensure the safety of power equipment and the stability of power system.At present,the protection based on the steady-state failure volume principle has its inherent disadvantages,such as the influence of current transformer saturation and the slow speed of operation.With the development of power system,the system capacity and voltage level are greatly improved,steady protection are problems based on transient protection and rapid development based on the vulnerable to avoid the saturation of current transformer faults,and has the advantages of fast operation,to meet the rapid development of relay protection the needs of the new era.In this paper,a new criterion of bus protection based on traveling wave principle is adopted.The paper analyses the characteristics of traveling wave factors and various fault conditions mainly affects the main properties.The traveling wave,is proposed based on the principle of bus protection direction traveling wave algorithm algorithm,the principle theory is not affected by saturation of current transformer,algorithm simple and fast action speed advantages.Then the phase mode transformation matrix at this stage is improved,the utility model has the advantages of reflecting all simple fault types.Finally,the direction traveling wave algorithm bus protection is simulated,and the MATLAB simulation software is used to carry the bus protection simulation model of the substation.By setting different fault types,fault location and the simulation data to verify the correctness of the protection principle.Analyzes its behavior in different transition resistance and different fault inception angles.The discrimiant principle in this paper overcomes the disadvantage that busbar protection based on current transient principle can not reflect high transition resistance or zero initial angle..Then the action of protection under different sampling frequency,series compensation capacitors and current transformer saturation is simulated and analyzed respectively.Through a large number of simulation data analysis,it is proved that this protection has the advantages of high reliability,sensitivity and speed.
