In recent years, due to the improvement of the economic, people's demands for environmental protection have also been improved. It is necessary that coal in power plants need to be covered. The general way of covering coal is to cover a coal shed on its storage plant,so the coal shed has also been greatly developed. The span of coal shed has increased from tens of meters to hundreds of meters.Coal shed with over 200 meters span has also been built.Coal sheds of more than 1,000 meters in length have also been built. The large-span dry coal shed has the characteristics of light weight, low damping, high flexibility, and dense distribution of natural frequencies. Thus wind load becomes its control load. The research on the response of coal sheds to wind load has also became important. The more attention is paid to it.Determining the wind pressure coefficient of coal shed is one of the most important part of the research.Numerical wind tunnel is a research method that emerged in recent years. This method discretizes continuous physical quantities such as continuous velocity field and pressure field, and then establishes a set of equations about these physical quantities according to a turbulence model. The numerical solution can be calculated by turbulence model.Numerical wind tunnels have many advantages: they can simulate real-size buildings, avoid Reynolds number effects, and it is convenient and inexpensive to test;they are convenient for parameter analysis of tests.Based on the Fluent software, this paper studies the distribution of wind load on a cylindrical reticulated shell dry coal shed by numerical simulation:(1)Introducing current researches of wind engineering in China and abroad;introducing the theoretical basis of numerical simulation of wind loads;(2)A numerical simulation of a cylindrical reticulated shell coal shed is calculated. The influence of 120m-span and 155m-span on the distribution of roof was analyzed. The numerical simulation results are compared with the wind tunnel test results, and the accuracy of the numerical simulation is verified.(3)Parametric analysis of 5 parameters(including wind speed,rise-span ratio,length-width ratio, end section form, set of coal piles)is done in this paper.(4)Two ways to reduce the distribution of wind pressure on the cylindrical reticulated shell coal shed(open skylights and partial openings)are simulated. And their effects are analyzed. The results show that both methods can effectively reduce the upward wind suction on the roof. Finally, the design proposal is proposed for reference in engineering practice.(5)A numerical simulation of a double-span cylindrical reticulated shell coal shed is calculated. The numerical simulation results show the distribution of wind pressure on double-span cylindrical reticulated shell coal shed and are compared with the wind tunnel test results. The accuracy of the numerical simulation is verified.
