As the carrier of energy and signal transmission,cable plays an important role in electromechanical products.At present,the virtual simulation of flexible cables in the assembly of electromechanical products has become a hot and difficult issue.It's very important to establish suitable physical model of cable harness and display the large deformation in the virtual assembly process.In order to realize the physicality and authenticity of flexible cable in the process of virtual assembly,this paper studies the space attitude and posture of multi-branch cable and the dynamic simulation of flexible cable based on the nonlinear mechanics of Cosserat elastic rod.Technical basis for the virtual assembly and laying of cable harness was provided.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The topological structure and space pose of multi-branch flexible cables were given.The geometry of the cable was described by the centerline and cross-sectional pose of the flexible cable.Through establish the inertial coordinate system,the arc coordinate system,the Frenet coordinate system and the cross-section main axis coordinate system,and their mutual relations,the space position of the branch cable in different coordinate systems were described.By increasing the geometrical constraints at the branch point,multi-branch cable geometric model was established.(2)The physical model of multi-branch flexible cable was established based on Cosserat theory.The static equilibrium equations and kinematic equations of flexible cables under various assembly conditions were given.The analytical and numerical solutions were given.The typical constraints of cable assembly in electromechanical products were analyzed and give the initial conditions and boundary conditions.The physical model of flexible cables under different constraints was established.(3)The established cable model was simulated based on Matlab.Including the cable static equilibrium model and dynamic model was numerically and analytically solved,and visual simulation analysis.Based on the static model,different forms and dynamic description of the cable assembly process were described,and the simulation of the spatial pose of the multi-branch cable was described.Simulation of torsion and drag movement based on cable dynamic model.The simulation results are reasonable and can provide the technical basis for the virtual assembly of cables.
