A gasoline engine's intake port directly affects the amount of fresh air and the air motion in cylinder.Thus,the power and economy of the engine will be improved with an optimized intake port.Through the test and simulation of the intake port,a four-cylinder port-injection gasoline engine was considered in this paper.Through steady flow tests and steady simulations,the test flow coefficient and the simulation flow coefficient were achieved and compare them.The results turns out that the steady simulation is precise enough and the flow coefficient is to improve.Moreover,pressure,velocity and turbulence in cylinder of three valveopening,were also obtainde and they are analysed to got the shotages of the original intake port.Three intake port schemes were gived and the scheme 2 was choosed to be the new intake port.The same steady flow test and steady simulation were done on the new intake port.Compare the results with the original and results indicated that the flow coefficient?velocity?pressure and turbulence of the new intake port are higher than the original.To analyse the difference of the two intake ports further,transient-simulations of two ports were done.Except the velocity field,pressure field,turbulence,the tumble ratio and the combustion datas of all crank angles were gained.According to the results,compared to the original port,the new one brought the stronger tumble flow in the intake stroke,higher turbulence in the ignition time and thicker and faster-moving flame contour in the combustion stroke.As a result,the higher explosive pressure was got in the new intake port engine.Via the bench tests,the external characteristics datas of the old and new intake port engine,which indicated the new intake port raised the economy and power of the engine,were obtained.
