It turned out that the heavy-ion induced fusion-evaporation reaction is the most efficient and common way to populate high-spin states.Heavy-ion induced fusion-evaporation reaction has multitudinous channels and the ? spectrum detected is to complex to select certain specific channel, especially when the cross-section of investigated nuclei is kind of small there. To increase total ? ray detection efficiency, conjunction a auxiliary array with the 7 ray array as se-lective device might reduce background by la.rge factors. We designed "SHAN BOWL" charge particle array to detect protons and ? particles emitting during fusion-evaporation reaction. The device is designed to be used in conjunction with HPGe detector arrays of China Institute of Atomic Energy and Institute of Modern Physics,China and the AFRODITE detector array of iThemba LABS,South Africa. It consists of 64 CsI(Tl)scintillators with the side of 10 10 mm25-mm thickness crystal,48 units as the bowl and 16 units as the cover of the bowl.Compare with photomultiplier tube, photodiodes have several merits such as low bias voltage, compact volume, low cost.,high ruggedness and magnetic resonance compatibility.Avalanche photodiodes has all advantages of photodiodes but with an internal gain which makes better signal-to-noise ratio. We both used photodiodes and avalanche photodiodes in "SHANDA BOWL".In 2017,the "SHANDA BOWL" charge particle array conjunction with AFRODITE arrat in iThemba Lab,South Africa, covering 20%4? solid angle, covered the angular range 35?85 and 143?1550,nearly 20%solid angle of 4?.;"SHANDA BOWL" discriminate protons and a particles clearly in 58Ni(19F,2pln)74Br in-beam ? spectroscopic experiment. The results of particle identification for light-charged part.icles and ?-rays in the test experiment and the in-beam experiment at iThemba LABS are accomplished by pulse shape analysis.Next step,we plan to upgrade "SHANDA BOWL" to "SHANDA BALL"which covers almost 4? solid angle.Additionally, temperature gain correction for avalanche photodiodes would like to be used for more precise measurements. Some multi-pixel photon counters(MPPCs)will used to replace photodiodes as photo sensors.
