According to some statistics, the traffic accident which is in the highest fatal rate is the rollover of vehicles. However, the current regulation for vehicle rollover at home and abroad lacks, and there is no dummy or model applicable to the rollover test.At the same time, the dynamic response and protection of the restraint system to the occupants are not clear enough. This paper analyzes the dynamic response and damage of three different driver models with four different constraints by establishing finite element models of the platform roll test. The purpose is to provide reference for the establishment of relevant regulations and development test of dummy for vehicle rollover. The detailed work is as follows:1.In this paper, the Ford Explorer vehicle finite element model provided by the National Collision Analysis Center of the United States is used for simulation analysis according to the SAEJ 2114 platform rollover test standard. After the calculation of LSDYNA,the simulation results were compared with the data in the NHTSA collision test database. The results, containing the comparison of vehicle dynamic response, the roof deformation mode, the centroid acceleration and the acceleration of dummy's head and thorax, show that the model established in this paper is in good agreement with the experimental one.2.On the basis of the verification model,a Hybrid ? dummy,a BioRID ? dummy and the THUMS mannequin were used as the driver to research their dynamic response and injury in the presence or absence of seat belts and side curtains.3.The dynamic response and injury of Hybrid ? dummy,BioRID ? dummy and THUMS mannequin were compared and summarized. And the applicability of those dummies for three working conditions is evaluated. After comparing and analyzing the dynamic response and injury of the three driver models, the results show that:1.In the aspect of motion response, during the rolling of the platform, the driver starts to move to the driving door after the vehicle is grounded. When the left side of the vehicle starts to touch the ground, the driver has a tendency to move toward the roof. The dynamic response of the Hybrid ? dummy's neck is more sensitive than the BioRID ? dummy's.2.In the case of THUMS injury, during the process of rollover, the THUMS mannequin has a higher risk of head, cervical disc and lung injury;the side curtain and seat belt have a significant protective effect on the head and chest ribs, and do not affect other indicators of the neck and chest.obvious.3.In the case of dummy injury, the injury of the two dummy is generally the same, and the BioRID ? dummy's injury is closer to the injury of the THUMS mannequin in the rollover. However, the injury indicators examined by the two were too one-sided,and do not take the occupant injury caused by other factors such as rotational acceleration and lateral bending of the neck into account.
