| The concept of autonomous driving has brought hope of the hope of solving many urban ills such as population explosion and traffic congestion. How to promote the coordination between autonomous vehicles and drivers from the perspective of human factors engineering has become a research hotspot of traffic safety psychology. In the complex human-computer interaction process, the driver plays a key role in the trust attitude of the self-driving vehicle. Most of the respondents were trusting autonomous vehicles(Schoettle & Sivak,2014).However,blindly trusting autonomous vehicles is not a good thing.Chinese scholars who have reviewed the impact of inappropriate trust attitudes on aviation safety. This paper intends to explore the impact of different trust attitudes and workloads on drivers’ participation in non-driving related tasks through two studies.Study 1: Revision of the Automated Driving Vehicle Trust Attitude ScaleA total of 268 auto-driving vehicle trust attitude scales were issued online and offline. The results are as follows:(1)The revised scale has a total of 13 topics, which are divided into two dimensions: trusting autonomous vehicles and questioning. The revised version of the Automated Driving Vehicle Trust Attitude Scale is an effective tool for measuring the attitude of Chinese drivers to autonomous vehicles.(2)The internal consistency coefficient of the auto-driving vehicle trust attitude scale is 0.906,and the internal consistency coefficient of each dimension is above 0.85.The correlation coefficient between the dimensions of the auto-driving vehicle trust attitude scale and the total score of the scale is between 0.878 and 0.906,both p < 0.01.It can be seen that the self-driving vehicle trust attitude scale has a good result in the structural validity of the model fit.(3)The gender, education level, and age in the demographic factors are significantly related to the driver’s auto-driving vehicle trust attitude scale.(4)The rational and systematic dimensions in the critical thinking scale have a good predictive effect on the questioning dimension in the trust scale.Study 2: Exploring the intrinsic reasons for the influence of trust attitude on distracting behaviorInviting 48 drivers with different trust attitudes to autonomous vehicles to simulate low-level automatic driving conditions,to explore the impact of trust attitude and workload on driver distraction behavior, the research results are as follows:(1)A driver with a trustworthy attitude is less effective at a particular stage of supervision.(2)A trusted driver is more likely to participate in more non-driving related tasks than the challenge group.(3)The gaze time of a specific area in the eye movement index can better predict the supervisory efficiency of the driver.(4)A trustworthy driver has a lower workload than a questionable driver. |
