Compared with traditional pneumatic tire,non-pneumatic tire has the advantages of maintenance-free,no puncture and no leakage,which can greatly improve the safety and comfort of the vehicle,and has a broad application prospect in the automotive industry.However,due to the complex structure of non-pneumatic tire,and involving the material hyperelastic,large geometric deformation,which brings great challenges to the traditional design.Study the design of automobile non-pneumatic tire based on bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization(BESO)method.At first,a topology optimization algorithm of periodic structure based on BESO is proposed,by applying the method of the periodic constraints to the sensitivity of the element and design variables;and realizing the algorithm by combining Abaqus finite element software and MATLAB language programming;On this basis,optimal the friction drum which taking the mises stress as the sensitivity,The optimal friction drum structure with light weight and low stress concentration is obtained,and the validity of the proposed algorithm is verified.Secondly,by analyzing the stress of non-pneumatic tire,A two-dimensional linear topological optimization model for non-pneumatic tires is established with the objective of maximizing the mean compliance of the tire,the elemental sensitivity is derived.Based on the topological optimization algorithm of periodic structure,The optimization design of two-dimensional linear non-pneumatic tire is carried out,the optimal topological structure of nonlinear non-pneumatic tire with different material volume fraction and rotationally symmetry numbers is obtained,the variation law and characteristics of the optimal topological structure of non-pneumatic tire with the change of structure control volume and rotationally symmetry numbers are summarized.Finally,considering the large geometric deformation factor,the topology optimization design of two-dimensional and three-dimensional nonlinear non-pneumatic tire is further studied.The sensitivity of the element is derived by taking the hyperelastic and large deformation into account and minimizing the residual energy of the structure as the design objective.based on the periodic structure topology optimization algorithm,which can obtain different material volume fraction and rotationally symmetry numbers of the nonlinear optimal topology structure,comparing with results of linear non-pneumatic tire,get more accord with the engineering practice of the ono-pneumatic tire structure.The research results of this paper provide a significant engineering guide for realizing lightweight design of the non-pneumatic tire.
