Zhang Ruijin’s Development In Governing Sediment Of The Yangtze Rive And Cultivating Talents Of Water Conservancy

Zhang Ruijin was a famous Hydraulic scientist and educator in our country.He was born in the Yangtze river three gorges with the water affinity.He dedicated his life to learning and researching hydraulics.Hydraulic engineering cover a broad range,so Zhang Ruijin only had remarkable achievement in the field of river sediment research.Moreover,He concentrated on higher education of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering field:He occupied subdecanal and president of Wuhan College of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering for a long time,who was in charge of teaching and research work.With his effort,The college has been developed into a first-class college of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering in China.Therefore,researching hydraulic life of Zhang Ruijin can reflect achievement of hydraulic construction and education in the past few decades from one aspect.On the basis of previous study and accurate historical materials,this paper summarizes hydraulic life experiences of Zhang Ruijin,including research of sediment problems in Gezhouba Dam project and Three Gorges Project along with establishment and construction of Wuhan College of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering.Sum up the experience and lessons of history.
