The modern long-range air-to-air missile has the characteristics of long range and high maneuverability.Solid ramjet is often used to increase the range of the missile propulsion system to meet the tactical requirements. As the slid-to-turn(STT)technology has a large restriction on the Angle of attack and large sideslip Angle may lead to abnormal engine operation, the bank-to-turn(BTT)control technology is widely used in the modern long-range air-to-air missile.BTT control also has some deficiencies, such as serious dynamic coupling problems, and slow dynamic response time.In this paper,BTT/STT switching control is proposed to explore this problem.Firstly, the mathematical model of missile control system is established, and linearization is carried out according to different control methods. Then, according to the classical control theory, the missile autopilot based on STT control and BTT control are designed.Under the STT control mode, designed the independent controller of each channel on the basis of traditional three-way decoupling. For BTT control, coordination branches are added on the basis of independent design of three-way autopilot to suppress the coupling between these channels.MATLAB/Simulink model was proposed to research the joint three-way simulation. The results indicated that the designed autopilot method was simple, easy to implement and had good response characteristics. Then according to the characteristics of STT and BTT control, the principle of BTT/STT switching control is proposed, and the switching algorithm is designed. Finally, the proposed BTT/STT switching method is simulated and analyzed. The simulation results show that compared with Hard-handoff switching, the switching process is more stable according to the proposed switching method, which is conducive to reducing the impact on the actuator and the projectile.
