Research Of Construction Skills Of Traditional Dwellings In The West Of Beijing

As the carrier of thousands of years of farming civilization in China,vernacular architecture embodies the construction experience and wisdom of folk craftsmen,and is the foundation of national spirit.At the same time,traditional dwelling houses and traditional building techniques complement each other,which is an important part of China’s historical and cultural heritage.In this paper,the main body of the study is the traditional residential construction techniques in the western part of Beijing.At present,most of the studies on the construction techniques of traditional residential buildings in Beijing focus on the courtyards in the urban areas,few of them focus on the traditional villages in the suburbs,and few focus on the construction techniques of residential buildings.Through field research and artisan interviews in traditional villages in Western Beijing,this paper deeply interprets the traditional residential construction techniques,and carries out cross-regional analogy to study the inheritance and evolution of the techniques.In this way,the author hopes to further tap the experience and wisdom of traditional craftsmen and provide reference for the protection and development of traditional dwellings today.This paper will be divided into four parts to study the construction techniques of traditional dwellings in Western Beijing.The first part is the study of the natural environment,history,culture and social background in the western part of Beijing,aiming at understanding the growth and development environment of the creation of skills;the second part is the study of traditional dwellings,which combines a large number of Surveying and mapping materials and literature materials to lay the foundation for the study of the creation of skills;the third part is the study of the traditional creation skills,which is the main part.Through the first-hand information obtained through interviews and field research,it objectively demonstrates the creative skills of traditional craftsmen;the fourth part is to extract the value of the creative skills,including the technical principles,the wisdom of craftsmen,the comparison of traditional and modern creative skills,and so on.Through the study of the above content,we can know that the natural and social environment has greatly affected the formation of traditional dwellings and the typification of their construction techniques,as well as the technical principles contained in the craftsmen’s recipes in the process of construction.After the passing down of the construction techniques from generation to generation,many construction details and techniques that are difficult to be noticed are concentrated and imported by craftsmen.These studies,on the one hand,fill the gaps in traditional residential building techniques in Western Beijing,have important reference value for the protection and development of traditional villages,and provide a theoretical basis for the repair and protection of local traditional residential buildings;on the other hand,rescue records and collation of precious skills in the face of loss,along with the decline of the number of traditional residential buildings,traditional construction techniques The value is more precious.At the same time,the scientific research on the principles of construction techniques is conducive to the application of traditional techniques to modern construction process.
