As people regard food as their prime want, the catering industry has long been an important component of China’s service industry. With the impact of the Internet tide in recent years, the traditional catering industry has been facing the challenges of high-priced food materials, high rent, high labor cost and low gross margin. Therefore, the catering industry, faced with the ever-changing consumption needs and modes of users,is difficult to make new breakthroughs if it remains its dependence on the original offline word-of-mouth propagation mode and the dining experience with food as the center. It’ s imperative to transform and upgrade the traditional catering industry to provide consumers with a new dining experience mode beyond their expectations. At present, the development of unmanned restaurants in China are still in its infancy, without any mode extensively promoted and applied in the market, which is caused by three reasons according to the author. The first reason is that users cannot adapt to the new dining mode, which requires them to master certain software operation skills. The second is that good design is limited by technical support,so that some innovative interaction plans fail to be implemented. Finally, and most importantly, the function and interaction design of the unmanned restaurants are not close enough to the actual needs of users, resulting in impractical integrated solutions that cannot truly solve the headaches of users during dining. This paper will carry out in-depth analysis of the interaction mode of users with other people, things and environment throughout the dining experience process, summarize the behavioral characteristics of the target users and explore their headaches during experience. It will find out the distinctiveness of an unmanned fast food restaurant compared with a traditional restaurant. In addition,it will propose an integrated interaction design scheme that can satisfy both online transaction and offline experience,by combining information of users, digital technologies and materials.Based on the goal-oriented theory, the project innovatively adds the experience link of"service contacts" to the existing design process, and comprehensively collects five contact dimensions of "doing","listening","speaking",and "looking" and"feeling" of users in the full-link experience scenario.Through questionnaire and user interviews,it gradually defines the target user group and creates the character role model.Based on this,a user experience map is drawn to accurately find out the headaches of users.According to the results, the functions needed by the product are gradually analyzed to further guide the detailed design.
