Acoustic emission is a common physical phenomenon,when the material or structural deformation or damage,it will release the stress wave quickly.Acoustic emission technique is a new dynamic nondestructive testing methods,it can detect any part of the structure and be more sensitive to the emergence and development of its internal structural defects.Compared to the other non-destructive testing technology,acoustic emission technology can also be implemented on the structure of the long-term management and forecasting.In this paper,we use of acoustic emission testing technology on the entire process of corrosion in reinforced concrete to determine the feasibility of acoustic emission technique detect corrosion.Interpreting and evaluating the degradation process of steel corrosion,which provides a new method for the detection of corrosion in reinforced concrete.The main research results are as follows:1.Through the lead break test of reinforced concrete specimen in the test environment,getting the acoustic emission data that are consistent with the test environment and test materials,such as the threshold value,the time parameters,positioning parameters,the amplitude attenuation curve etc.,which provide a reliable guarantee to get the best results.2.Analysis of the difference of acoustic emission signals between corrosion specimens and do not corrosion specimens,confirmed that using acoustic emission technique can detect corrosion signal of reinforcing steel in concrete.3.We obtained the correlation between AE parameters and corrosion damage by analyzing the process of reinforcement corrosion in concrete structure,which proved that using acoustic emission technology can detect the initiation of reinforcement corrosion and largely determine the extent of damage to concrete structures.4.In order to simulate the steel corrosion process of existing structure,the paper monitor the corrosion process of the precast reinforced concrete beam under the action of dead load,and detect the initial stage of steel corrosion,the dormant stage and crack nucleation stage.Confirmed the acoustic emission technique can detect the entire process of steel corrosion.5.Compared with the actual corrosion position in the experiments,it is concluded that the acoustic emission positioning technology can determine the internal defects location and degree of damage in the process of reinforced concrete corrosion.Overall,the acoustic emission technique can monitor the emergence and development of concrete reinforcement corrosion,the acoustic emission technique can be used as a new technical means to detect steel corrosion.
