With the increase of power generation from renewable energy sources of wind,solar and other alternative energy sources,it brings huge social and economic benefits.But it also brings great challenges to the power grid stability and reliability due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources.To address the problems,electrical energy storage has been recognized as one of the most promising approaches.And compressed air energy storage system is widely concerned for its low impact on environment,economy and reliability.In this paper,the background,research significance and development status of compressed air energy storage are discussed.According to the theoretical analysis of discharging process,the dynamic models of air reservoir,expander and generator are built,and the dynamic simulation models are built by integrating all the key components models in Matlab/Simulink environment.Energy efficiency of micro compressed air energy system discharging process is analyzed according to the thermodynamic theory,including air reservoir energy,scroll expander and generator.Then the control strategy of discharging process is studied,and the targets of keeping the constant rotation speed,system optimal efficiency and maximum output power are discussed respectively.Finally,the test bench for micro compressed air energy storage system has been built.And the discharging process experiments are accomplished,including the coupling relationship experiment between expanders and generators,dynamic features experiment of discharging process.And the energy efficiency is analyzed through the experimental data.The coupling model between expanders and generators and dynamic simulation models of discharging process are proved.and the coupling characters of expanders and generators are revealed.It has great significance for the application of micro compressed air energy storage system in practice.
