The reinforced concrete frame structure is one of the most widely used structural forms in multi-tall buildings, and its strength, durability and integrity are suitable for seismic fortification areas. The seismic capacity of the structure has always been the focus of research in the framework structure.Especially after several major earthquake disasters, people have paid more attention to the seismic performance of buildings. The frame beam is the main energy-consuming member of the reinforced concrete frame structure under earthquake action. In particular, the plastic hinge area of the beam end should have good ductility and energy dissipation capacity,so that the beam end consumes seismic energy by plastic deformation and plastic hinge rotation. In this paper, the steel wire mesh is placed parallel to the stirrups in the plastic hinge region of the beam end,and the concrete is used to better restrain to improve the energy dissipation capacity of the plastic hinge zone and the ductility of the beam end, thereby improving the seismic performance of the frame beam end.The main research content is divided into two parts:(1)Through test of a normal reinforced concrete frame edge joint test specimen and three frame side joint test specimens that the steel wire mesh is placed parallel to the stirrups in the plastic hinge region of the beam end under the low-cycle reciprocating load, comprehensive comparing the seismic behavior of the four test specimens in terms of failure mode, hysteresis curve, skeleton curve, ductility performance and energy dissipation capacity. The influence of the steel mesh placed parallel to the stirrups on the seismic performance of the beam end was analyzed.(2)Using the large-scale finite element analysis software ABAQUS,the seismic performance of the four frame side joint test specimens under low-cycle re-ciprocating load is simulated, and the simulation results are compared with the test results. The influence of the steel wire mesh on the seismic performance of beam end is comprehensively evaluated. The results show that: the steel wire mesh which placed parallel to the stirrups in the plastic hinge region of the beam end can effectively restrain the concrete in the whole high range of the beam,so that the frame beam end has good ductility and plastic deformation ability under the reciprocating load, which enhances the rotation and energy consumption of the plastic hinge, and improve the seismic performance of the beam end.
