The tilting pad bearing has the characteristics of less noise and stable operation,and has been widely used in large rotating machinery.In this paper,the two-phase flow theory,computational fluid dynamics and computational solid mechanics are used to numerically simulate the bearing capacity of five-watt tilting tile bearings.This study first physically modeled the fluid domain of a tilting tile bearing and divided it into a structured grid.A custom dynamic mesh method suitable for model calculation and a UDF program that can update the journal and tile speed changes have been developed to accommodate the free deflection of the tilting pad bearing during operation.Subsequently,the load-carrying capacity,pressure distribution and the change of balance swing angle of tilting pad bearing under different rotational speeds and different preload coefficients when tilting pad bearings are lubricated with ordinary oil were studied.On this basis,a suitable range of parameters is selected,and the effects of particle volume fraction and particle diameter on the load-carrying capacity,pressure distribution and balance swing angle of multiphase oil film are further studied after adding solid particles into ordinary lubricating oil.Finally,the fluid-solid coupling analysis of tilting pad bearing tile is carried out to study the stress and deformation distribution of the tiles when the diameter of solid particles changes.The results of numerical simulation show that the load-carrying capacity of common lubricating oil film increases obviously with the increase of rotational speed and preload coefficient,and the stability of oil film also improves.When the volume fraction of the added solid particles and the diameter of the solid particles are in an appropriate range,the bearing capacity of the lubricating oil film is greatly improved,and the bearing capacity of the oil film increases as the solid particle volume fraction and the particle diameter increase.When solid particles are added,the deformation and stress of the tiles will increase slightly,but its equivalent stress is far less than the yield strength of material,and its deformation distribution is relatively uniform compared with that of ordinary lubricant.The conclusions drawn from the basis of sufficient arguments can provide a theoretical basis for the development and development of tilting tile bearing lubricant additives,which has certain practical significance.
