Research On The Protection And Planning Of Suzhou Ancient City Wall Based On Urban Memory

As a cultural ancient city with a long history and rich heritage,Suzhou has experienced more than two thousand years of baptism.Today,the city site is basically in line with the Southern Song Dynasty Pingjiang map which was nearly a thousand years ago.This is rare in the world.Suzhou is unique in its uniqueness.The urban Planning of the double chessboard pattern of "water and land parallel,river street adjacent" is different from other water cities in the world.Suzhou ancient city wall is an important element symbolizing Suzhou culture and an important witness to the change of Suzhou city.However,due to natural and man-made damage,the ancient city wall of Suzhou was demolished and damaged in the late 1950s.Nowadays,with the awareness of the protection of cultural relics,the protection of Suzhou ancient city walls has attracted the attention of the public,but how to protect and utilize it.The resources of the ancient city wall,which is integrated with the current Suzhou urban planning,has become a historical and cultural landscape node recognized and loved by the Suzhou people.This is also the main problem that the author has studied in the thesis.The first chapter of the thesis expounds the origin,development and status quo of Suzhou ancient city wall,which is used as the realistic basis of the thesis,and explains the concept,characteristics and operation mechanism of urban memory as the theoretical basis of the thesis.The second chapter is From the perspective of urban memory,this paper evaluates and investigates the memory retention of Suzhou ancient city wall,analyzes the problems existing in the physical protection and memory protection of Suzhou ancient city wall,and summarizes the major factors affecting urban memory and the memory retention of Suzhou ancient city wall.The relationship between the memory information carrier of Suzhou ancient city wall and the strategy and guidance for the memory information protection and storage of Suzhou ancient city wall;the third chapter is to apply the theoretical guidance to the actual,the ancient city wall of Suzhou and its surrounding areas Specific measures are proposed for protection and utilization.Through sufficient analysis of current situation and theoretical research,the corresponding strategies and practical suggestions for the protection and utilization of Suzhou ancient city wall are given,and it is hoped to provide theoretical guidance for the protection of Suzhou ancient city wall.
