| With the increasingly close exchanges between countries in the world,the architectural form gradually tends to converge.In our country,the phenomenon of "one side of a thousand cities" is becoming more and more serious in architectural design.The insufficient application of traditional cultural symbols and the lack of traditional cultural connotation are important reasons for the phenomenon of "one side of a thousand cities".In 1982,the Xiangshan Hotel designed by I.M.Pei was the first post-modernist design work constructed in the mainland of China after the reform and opening-up.While continuing the spirit of modernist architectural design,the whole design of Xiangshan Hotel added the excavation and refinement of traditional Chinese cultural symbols such as traditional residential cultural symbols and landscape symbols,which made Xiangshan Hotel even though.However,it is a fully modern building,but it has more traditional Chinese cultural images than ordinary modern buildings.It is a model of combining traditional Chinese cultural symbols with modern architectural design,which is worth our in-depth study.Taking the Xiangshan Hotel designed by Mr.Pei as the theme,this paper takes the application of traditional cultural symbols in the architectural design of Xiangshan Hotel as the research object,combs the existing value of traditional cultural symbols and cultural connotations in the architectural design of Xiangshan Hotel,and studies how the designers transform these traditional cultural symbols into modern construction in Xiangshan Hotel.Combining architectural design with contemporary design,and applying it to contemporary design,this paper explores the design strategies of the contemporary application of traditional Chinese cultural symbols,and reflects on the current educational situation of contemporary Chinese design art.The paper consists of six parts.The first part is the introduction,which summarizes the research background,content,significance and innovation of the subject.The second part,"The Significance of Chinese Traditional Cultural Symbols for Modern Design",from the perspective of semiotics,discusses the relevant concepts of traditional cultural symbols involved in this paper,and the significance of traditional cultural symbols in modern design.The third part is a summary of the design of Xiangshan Hotel.This chapter summarizes the design of Xiangshan Hotel through field investigation and research,and summarizes the design experience of I.M.Pei and his design methods in Xiangshan Hotel.The fourth part is "the application method of traditional cultural symbols in the architectural design of Xiangshan Hotel",which systematically analyses the application method of traditional cultural symbols in Xiangshan Hotel from four perspectives of its architectural shape,interior design,landscape design and overall spatial intention,and discusses its educational significance.The fifth part is "the educational significance of the application of traditional cultural symbols in the architectural design of Xiangshan Hotel".It summarizes the regularity of the application of traditional cultural symbols in the architectural design of Xiangshan Hotel,and discusses its influence on the development and innovation of new Chinese design,contemporary art design and contemporary art education.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole article,discusses the relationship between traditional cultural symbols and modern design,the importance of traditional cultural symbols in the field of modern design and the educational significance behind them,inherits and carries forward the traditional Chinese design cultural ideas,and provides suggestions for the development and innovation of contemporary Chinese design. |
