Smart grid is gradually evolving into a cyber physical system(CPS),with the development of communication and measurement technologies.A large number of smart terminals are connected to the power system for real-time monitoring and controlling. The transmission of massive data generated by smart terminals relies on the reliable communication network and standardized communication protocol. Therefore, the communication failure or cyber-attack will affect the normal operation of the power system.Given these backgrounds, this dissertation explores the CPS applications and their simulation requirements,non-real-time co-simulation method,real-time co-simulation method with hardware-in-loop and the modeling method of cyber-attack.The detailed contents are as follows:(1)The structure of control system is summarized according to the characteristics of the CPS applications. The features, functions and usage scenarios of communication protocols used in power systems such as IEC 60870-5-104,IEC 61850,IEC 61970,etc.are analyzed to propose the simulation requirements.(2)A kind of non-real-time co-simulation method is researched in this paper.Considering the contradiction between the accuracy and efficiency of existing simulation synchronization method,a new method based on state caching technology is presented. The cache module and backtracking module are embedded in PSAT to realize this synchronization method.(3)A real-time co-simulation platform with hardware-in-the-loop is presented in this paper for performing CPS analyses based on RT-LAB and OPNET software. The platform is capable of simulating a power grid and communication network while also reflecting the impact of actual devices and cyber-attacks on the power system.(4)Modelling and implementation methods focused on distributed denial of service(DDOS)attack and man-in-the-middle(MITM)attack in a communication network are elaborated. The case study of DDOS attack and MITM attack in a typical CPS is demonstrated based on the real-time co-simulation platform. The simulation results validate the capability of the platform and also show the importance of considering the separate impacts of the communication system, actual devices and cyber-attack in power system simulations.
