Distributed generators in the microgrids are commonly coupled via inverters.The key issue in islanded mode of microgrids is power sharing for parallel inverters.The study investigates the feasibility of power-sharing among parallel distributed generators(DGs)in an islanded mode of microgrids.The power-sharing can be realized by controlling two independent quantities such as the magnitude of voltage and frequency component in droop control.The conventional droop strategy which was already used in inverter design,have some problems related to synchronizing parallel connected inverters under different control strategies.The frequency and voltage variation caused by connecting two inverters in parallel is an issue in droop control strategy.To overcome this issue an enhanced droop controller with frequency restoration scheme(FRS)is proposed in this study.The enhanced droop control is implemented for frequency restoration and voltage control among the distributed generators with predefined droop characteristics.The PQ control is investigated for controlling output real and reactive power of the distributed generator by assigning their references.Simulation studies are carried out under the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.The results show the validity and power-sharing performance of the system while maintaining stable operation when the DGs work in the islanding mode.
