Due to the operability,excellent performance,and low price,consumergrade Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)gained its blowout in recent years.Nevertheless ever-increasing number of consumer-grade UAVs have threatened the public security and even some of the have been used in vicious crimes.Therefore monitoring consumer-grade UAVs has become an imperious demands.Low altitude,slow speed and flexible maneuvering are the characteristics of consumer-grade UAV and its radar cross section is small which makes it hard to be monitored by radar.The paper,considering the difficulties mentioned above,studies an anti-UAV radar system based on linear frequency modulated continuous wave,which has the characteristics of small size,low power consumption and high precision.And field experiments have been taken to verify the effectiveness of the mini radar system.Firstly,this paper analyzes the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of comsumer-grade UAVs,and obtains the electromagnetic scattering properties by analyzing the structure and the electromagnetic scattering of the typical consumer-grade UAV.Secondly,this paper studies the signal processing algorithms of the mini radar system.Based on the analysis the basic principles of the linear frequency modulated continuous wave radar,the methods of pretreatment,adaptive line enhancer and fixed target cancellation have been researched to improve the performance of detection.Thirdly,based on the analysis of demands,the design specifications and parameters of the mini radar system are illustrated and the radar system has been designed,built,tested and experimented in this paper.Finally,the radar front-end of the mini radar system has been tested and the field experiments are conducted to verify the reliability of the radar system by using an actual consumer-grade UAV.The experimental results reveal that the flight paths of the consumergrade UAV can be detected and monitored by the mini radar system.
