The wireless sensor network provide effective communication means during the operation and maintenance of the nuclear power plant,providing a powerful guarantee for data transmission and personnel communication,and effectively improving the reliability and availability of the nuclear power plant.Topology control plays an important role in wireless sensor network.Topology control can not only improve the structure of network but also improve the efficiency of routing protocol and MAC protocol and the survival time for the network.Compared with the traditional wireless sensor network,wireless sensor network in nuclear power plant is quite different because of the unique structural features and energy-constrained wireless sensor network itself.The wireless sensor network topology control algorithm of the nuclear power plant is different from the traditional network topology control such as physical separation,strict power limitation area and the like.All these circumstances mentioned above put forward higher requirements of nuclear power plant wireless sensor network topology control design.In this paper,we combine plant-specific physical model of nuclear reactor and actual situation of the wireless transmission.And according to the requirements of different conditions,we present a shortest path topology construction algorithm based on Dijkstra,node energy and threshold during normal operation,and a centralized algorithm based on virtual backbone network during maintenance.By the simulation with MATLAB,we present the optimal solution of the parameters such as the survival time and transmission radius of the wireless sensor network during normal operation of the nuclear power plant.And we also present the influence of wireless sensor network transmission radius and key node energy on the number of point-to-point data cycles during maintenance and the optimal solution for this circumstance.The above research has a good guiding for the application of topology control technology for wireless sensor networks in nuclear powerplants.It has laid a good foundation for the application of wireless sensor networks in nuclear power plants.
