The latest development trend of the ro-ro passenger ship(Ropax)shows that it is gradually becoming one of modern luxury cruisers,which leads to a higher indoor comfort requirements of its living room.Due to the severe external environment of the Ropax and the limited space in the living room of Ropax,the problems of environment control is particularly prominent.Therefore,it is of practical engineering significance to study the air distribution and environmental comfort in the living room under the typical route conditions of Ropax.Based on the environmental conditions of the Yangtze River route,this paper proposes two air-conditioning system schemes for living rooms on the Ropax.Then,air distribution characteristics of the living rooms in summer and winter were studied numerically.Secondly,the distribution characteristics of relative humidity,PMV(Predicted Mean Vote)-PPD(Predicted Percent Dissatisfied)and average air age in the cabins are analyzed.The mass concentration distribution and diffusion process of formaldehyde in the living room were discussed,the effect of the above factors on the environmental comfort was analyzed.Finally,this paper focused on some factors,including the thermal,air quality,noise and vibration and light environment in the living rooms on the Ropax.Then,a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on the relevant standards of human health is proposed.This evaluation method is used to evaluate and demonstrate the indoor thermal comfort under the two air-conditioning systems,and finally the evaluation results of the environmental comfort in the living rooms on the Ropax are given.The results show that:(1)Both the conventional marine air-conditioning system and the radiant air conditioning system can adjust the cabin environment to meet the basic personnel comfort requirements.(2)Reasonable setting of the air supply volume,fresh air volume and moisture content can effectively control the relative humidity and formaldehyde concentration in the living rooms.(3)The radiant air-conditioning system can be applied to the cabin space of the ship and create a more comfortable indoor thermal environment with a higher uniformit.(4)Combining the numerical calculation of air distribution with the comprehensive evaluation method of comfort,the comprehensive evaluation score of the environmental comfort in the living rooms can be obtained.According to the measured data in the cabins of one actual actual ship,the comprehensive evaluation score of the environment is 65.9,which indicates that the environment of the cabins on the actual ship just m eets the qualification requirements.Further,it can be found that there are no obvious dif ferences between the simulation results and comprehensive evaluation results of the thermal comfort in the living rooms on the Ropax.This indicates clearly that the comprehensive evaluation method is realiable.The combination of the comprehensive evaluation method and numerical calculation can help designers select the best scheme for air distribution to improve the environment comfort of the living room on the Ropax.The results of this study can provide a reference for the study of environmental comfort in ship cabins or the other similar manned spaces.
