Research On The Decorative Art Of Wood Carving In Xinjiang Traditional Architecture

Xinjiang,located in the northwest border of our country,is a vast land rich in real estate.Xinjiang is also located in the most important part of the overall route of the Silk Road,and is the only place through which the Silk Road must pass.Xinjiang has a special geographical location and the social characteristics of multi-ethnic living.Influenced by the multi-culture of the Silk Road,Xinjiang and the Han culture in the mainland permeate each other and jointly create Xinjiang’s traditional architectural art,which shows strong regional characteristics in the process of localization.Architecture is an important carrier that reflects a region’s social form,artistic style and material conditions.The development of these factors will inevitably bring about the renewal of architectural patterns and decorative styles.With the decrease of traditional architecture,wood carving decoration art is also facing new challenges.Studying the artistic features of traditional architecture wood carving has a certain reference function for its inheritance and continuous innovation,and integrating it into modern design.The paper sorts out the existing relevant documents,takes Xinjiang traditional architectural wood carving decorative art as the research object,adopts the research methods of field investigation,surveying and mapping,and interviewing carpenters,summarizes the characteristics of traditional architectural wood carving decorative art,including the types and characteristics of patterns,the characteristics of application parts and techniques of wood carving decoration,and analyzes the current situation of wood carving decoration.The article is mainly divided into six chapters.The first chapter,introduction,introduces the research background,literature,research methods,innovations and deficiencies of traditional architectural wood carving decoration.In the second chapter,through summarizing Xinjiang’s special natural environment and human environment characteristics,the relevant factors affecting traditional architectural wood carving decorative arts are found.In the third chapter,through investigation cases,the application parts and decorative patterns of traditional architectural wood carving decoration are preliminarily understood,and the classification,subject matter content and combination characteristics of wood carving patternsare summarized.The fourth chapter mainly introduces the application scope and decoration parts of the traditional wood carving decoration.The traditional wood carving decoration parts are mainly concentrated in the doors,veranda(beams,purlins,columns),Arab-Israeli prosperous hall(beams,purlins,columns)and bedroom(beams,purlins,windows and other parts.The wood carving decoration mostly keeps the natural color of wood.The fifth chapter systematically inspects and analyzes the present situation of traditional wood carving decoration,the inheritance status of wood carving handicraft,its application value in modern residential interior design,and on this basis,explores the ideas of protection,inheritance and development of Xinjiang traditional architectural wood carving decoration art.
