The Concrete Filled Steel Tube structure(CFST)has the advantages of high bearing capacity,strong deformation ability,short construction period and remarkable economic benefits.However,the continuous development of the construction industry and building technology requires superior structural performance.Compared with the Concrete Filled Steel Tube structure,the Reinforced Concrete Filled Steel Tube has a good seismic performance,ductility and fire resistance.Appropriate reinforcement in concrete filled steel tube to form Reinforced Concrete Filled Steel Tube(RCFST)can not only greatly improve the bearing capacity,hoop effect,overall seismic performance,ductility and plastic deformation capacity after maximum load,but also control the steel tube.Increased wall construction costs.In Xinjiang,natural desert sand resources are rich,and the taking of the building materials locally are important.The application of desert sand to the reinforced concrete-filled steel tube structure and explore its axial pressure performance,which provided experimental research for the engineering application of desert sand concrete.According to the previous research results and current norms,the desert sand is partly replaced by ordinary sand to make mixed sand concrete,and the steel tube concrete short column is filled into the reinforced concrete steel tube to study the axial pressure performance,also designed the same steel content’s reinforced concrete short column(RC),concrete-filled steel tubular short columns(CFST),reinforced concrete-filled steel short columns(RCFST)with two concrete strengths and two concrete types for comparison of axial pressure properties.Also,using test data to verify whether the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete-filled steel short columns is greater than or equal to CFST and steel materials or the combined bearing capacity of the RC and the empty steel tube’s bearing capacity.From eexperimental test the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The axial compression performance of the CFST,RCFST,RC columns mixing desert sand is similar to that of ordinary short columns;(2)Under the same steel content,the bearing capacity of the two kinds of concrete strengths of short columns mixing desert sand is similar to that of ordinary short columns.The bearing capacity and ductility of two kinds of concrete strength,two concrete types of concrete-filled steel tubular short columns and reinforced concrete-filled steel short-columns’ is closer.The bearing capacity of concrete-filled steel tubular short columns and reinforced concrete short columns is much higher than that of reinforced concrete short columns;the incorporation of desert sand has no significant effect on the bearing capacity of short columns;(3)The bearing capacity of reinforced concrete-filled steel short columns can be evaluated by the superimposed bearing capacity of steel tubular short-column and steel materials.
