This paper,based on 4 kinds of girder spacing,17 kinds of span of 68 sets of standard drawing of American steel composite plate girder,conducts a comprehensive comparative study between“General Specifications for Design of Highway Bridges and Culverts”?JTG D60-2015?,“Specifications for Design of Highway Steel Bridge”?JTG D64-2015?,“Specifications for Design and Construction of Highway Steel-concrete Composite Bridge”?JTG-T D64-01-2015?with“AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications 8th Ed.2017”.The research is mainly carried out from the following aspects and the results are as follows.?1?The advantages and the extending significance of steel-composite plate girder bridges are stated,the development of composite structure and standard drawings is sum up,the research status of Chinese and foreign bridges specification are summarized,and the deficiency is pointed out.?2?The design criteria,limit state,load combination and material properties of Sino-US bridge specifications are compared,the correspondence of material strength between Sino-US bridge specifications are obtained.?3?Standard drawing of American steel composite plate girder is introduced.The concepts of effect difference degree,resistance difference degree and comprehensive difference degree reflecting the effect difference,resistance difference and structure checking difference between Sino-US bridge specifications respectively are defined.The action of dead loads,live loads,uniform temperature,temperature gradient,shrinkage and creep are compared,the effect difference degree of action between Sino-US bridge specifications are obtained.The results show that the effect of constant and live load of Sino-US bridge specification is basicly equivalent after considering the factors such as load factors,live load distribution factor and dynamic load allowance.The calculation model of uniform temperature and gradient temperature of Sino-US bridge specification is basically same,but some differences in temperature base value exists.The calculation model of creep effect and shrinkage action of Sino-US bridge specification is different.?4?For ultimate limit states,the bending moment checking,vertical shear force checking and longitudinal shear force checking of Sino-US are compared.For service limit states,the deflection check,stress checking and concrete crack checking of Sino-US are compared.For fatigue checking,normal stress checking,shear stress checking and stud stress of fatigue force checking are compared.The effect difference degree,the resistance difference degree and the comprehensive difference degree of deflection between Sino-US bridge specifications are obtained.Except the fatigue checking of shear studs,Chinese bridge specification is more conservative than AASHTO for all other checking contents.The difference of bending moment and vertical shear force in ultimate limit states is mainly induced by the difference of resistance,the difference of all other contents are mainly induced by the difference of effect.
