Since the vehicle platoon can significantly improve road traffic efficiency,reduce fuel consumption,and achieve automatic control of longitudinal movement of other vehicles except the head car,the driver’s work intensity can be greatly alleviated.Therefore,vehicle platoon technology has received great attention in the field of intelligent transportation.A large number of researchers at home and abroad have been engaged in the research and development of vehicle platoon control technology for a long time.The process is generally divided into three stages: design,simulation and real vehicle test verification.Software simulation can be effective.It is of great theoretical significance and engineering application value to verify the stability of the vehicle platoon control strategy and reduce the number of real vehicle tests,thus greatly reducing the research and development costs.Most of the existing vehicle platoon simulations are based on numerical simulations,which have a poor realism and cannot be tested for test rides.In this paper,computer software simulation technology is used to establish the virtual model of vehicle platoon.The driving simulator is used to input the control parameters of the vehicle.By analyzing the running data of the vehicle and the virtual ride experience of the test drive personnel,the control strategy of the fleet is objectively objective.Evaluation.This paper has mainly completed the following work.The overall scheme of vehicle platoon simulation system based on virtual reality technology is designed.The key elements,simulation principle and workflow analysis and design that affect the longitudinal motion control effect of the platoon are also selected.Unity is selected as the simulation software interface development tool,which has the characteristics of convenient use,flexible development and strong sense of reality.Under the condition of communication delay,based on the CTH control strategy,the vehicle platoon control strategy under the communication delay condition is established,and the stability of the vehicle platoon is analyzed from the theoretical level to obtain the stability of the vehicle platoon with communication delay.Restrictions.The vehicle platoon simulation software interface development was completed based on the Unity platform.The data of the driving simulator is collected by serial communication,and the road scene and the vehicle 3D model are imported in the Unity platform to complete the scene lighting effect setting and scene rendering and baking.With the perspective switching,a more realistic driving role experience can be achieved.The menu selection mode can be used to realize the setting of the vehicle platoon control model and control parameters,and at the same time realize the trajectory parameter output of the curve and text mode.Based on the developed simulation software platform,the simulation experiment of longitudinal motion control of vehicle platoons in two scenarios of emergency braking and traffic oscillation is completed.The simulation test of the control stability of the vehicle platoon controller established in this paper and the virtual ride experience test of the test passengers are carried out under consideration of the two conditions of communication delay.The objective and subjective aspects of the vehicle platoon control strategy are carried out.Analysis and evaluation.The experimental results show that the simulation software developed in this paper has strong realism and convenient parameter setting,and can be easily used for debugging the parameters of vehicle platoon controller.In the future,the software can also be used for human factor engineering testing of vehicle virtual driving.
