The driver of a GDI injector(Gasoline direct injection)is the component to achieve rapid control of the opening and closing of the injector.That means it will manage all the injectors of the engine simultaneously by controlling their current input.Usually the driver manages the dynamic response and the magnetic force of the injector.However,most of the GDI injectors are controlled by commercial drivers,which are not friendly with user-defined functions and optimizations.Therefore,this study aims at building a new GDI driver from scratch,so that it is compatible with scalable features.The biggest challenges of designing a GDI injector is to achieve high accuracy,high reliability and fast response.And all these factors are very important for the good work of the injector and the engine.The aim of this research is to design and optimize a GDI driver in term of efficiency and control.Thus,this paper presents the design and optimization procedure of a GDI driver.This driver consists of two parts: the hardware composed of a boost converter and a buck-boost converter,and a software which will drive the hardware.After the driver was built and optimized,we performed experiments of injection rate to validate the performance of the designed GDI injector.
