Regarding the common three-cabin model and the three-cabin model with added mass and water spring as the research object, this paper calculates the structural response and plastic deformation of the target cabin subjected to inner explosion and external explosion, respectively, and makes comparisons. The quasi-static method of Abaqus is selected to calculate the residual ultimate strength of damaged cabins.Based on the analysis above, the research of the effect of box pillars on anti-explosion of box-girder structures under external blast load is carried out from two aspects: structural response and residual ultimate strength. The main conclusion of this paper is summarized as follows:1.Surrounding water can be neglected when researching on internal explosion but cannot be neglected when researching on external explosion.2.When strain energy, instead of deformation,is steady, the residual ultimate strength of damaged cabins can be calculated.3.The box pillar can be regarded as an elastic support of the strength deck and box girders by reducing the vertical displacement. But if the rigidity of the box pillars is too large,it may result in tearing in the middle of the strength deck and box girders.4.Box pillars cannot increase the initial ultimate strength of structures, but owing to its effect on reducing the deformation of the strength deck and box girders, the residual ultimate strength is increased. And along with the rise of the rigidity and the impulsive factor, the increase of the residual ultimate strength is more obvious.
