| With the advancement of society and the development of science and technology,people’s demand for products is getting higher and higher.Electrical discharge machining(EDM)is a non-contact special processing method that use pulses discharge melting materials and has been widely used in practice.However,compared to other special processing,the disadvantages of low EDM materials removal rates severely limit the development of EDM.The discontinuous discharge of the pulse power supply causes this result,and there are limitations to solving the pulse width discontinuity.Therefore,in order to increase the machining speed,a multi-electrode multi-loop EDM machining method that increases the number of electrodes in space is proposed.A novel multi-electrode multi-loop EDM pulse power supply with series capacitance between electrodes is proposed,and a three-electrode three-loop pulse power supply simulation is performed on Multisim software.Then theoretically analyze the reasons for the simulation results,and give the advantages of this new power supply compared with other traditional power supplies.Experiments are carried out based on the model built by the simulation,and the conclusions obtained by the simulation are verified.A multi-electrode multi-loop EDM experimental platform is designed and bulit,and uses multi-electrode coaxial servo method for servo feed.In hardware,the construction of the experimental platform mainly includes the design of multi-electrode fixture,multi-electrode pulse power supply and detection circuit.In software,it includes the preparation of the upper computer interface and MCU control program.In order to study the characteristics of the material removal rate and electrode loss of the novel EDM power supply,the novel power supply is compared with the traditional transistor circuit and the transistor circuit of the shunt capacitor.And through experiments,it is concluded that under the experimental conditions,the machining speed of the novel power supply is about 6 times that of the other two power supplies,and the electrode loss is at a medium level,and has a good machining quality.Capacitance,pulse width and number of electrodes are important parameters of the novel power supply,so their machining characteristics are studied experimentally.Finally,a 3×3 array hole is machined by the novel power supply. |
