Masonry structure,as the main structural form of buildings in villages and towns in China, has the advantages of easy materials, low construction cost and small construction difficulty. The number of masonry structure construction in China’s vast rural areas accounts for 60% of the total number of rural houses. However,in the recent wenchuan earthquake, lushan earthquake and jiuzhaigou earthquake, the rural masonry structure houses are especially damaged due to the lack of seismic construction measures and random construction. In view of the large-scale masonry structure farm houses with potential safety hazards, the Central Committee of the Party, the State Council, the Sichuan Provincial Committee and the provincial government have put forward the requirements of speeding up the reinforcement and transformation of dangerous houses in rural areas, further improving the safety and reliability of basic residential buildings of the rural poor people, and completing the reinforcement and transformation of dangerous houses in rural areas with high quality.According to the relevant policies of the state, this paper, combined with the project "research and demonstration on strengthening and renovation technology of rural houses in sichuan province" undertaken by the research group, conducts an in-depth study on reinforcing methods of reinforced mortar belt used in strengthening and renovation of rural houses with masonry structure.Relevant research work is mainly carried out from the following aspects:(1)In the early stage of the project, the related data of the research on the status quo of masonry structure farmhouse in Gaoping District of Nanchong City were sorted out,and the types and causes of the destruction of masonry farmhouse were summarized, and the precise reinforcement measures were put forward.Taking a brick-concrete structure house in the reinforcement demonstration site as an example, this paper analyzed the reinforcement case and summarized the construction technology of reinforced mortar belt combined with the actual construction process.(2)Four masonry wall specimens in quasi-static test are selected, and their integral model is established by finite element software ABAQUS.The variable amplitude loading system controlled by displacement is adopted to load them. The load-displacement curve data of each specimen are derived, and the mechanical characteristics of masonry wall specimens are studied in depth. The hysteresis curves, skeleton curves and stiffness degradation curves obtained by numerical simulation are compared with the experimental results to verify the validity of the constitutive parameters and failure criteria of the specimens,as well as the rationality of the modeling process, loading system and calculation method.(3)Taking the masonry structure farmhouse of a pilot farmer as the prototype, the original scale wall model before and after reinforcement with seven reinforced mortar belts was established, and the effects of different reinforcement forms of mortar belts and opening doors and windows on the mechanical properties of the reinforced wall were studied. At the same time, six different vertical stresses were applied to four types of wall models, and numerical simulation was carried out under horizontal low-cycle repeated load to study the effect of different stress states on the reinforcement effect of reinforced mortar bands. The research results of this paper have strong guidance for the reinforcement of rural houses in Sichuan Province, and provide technical support and important reference for the reinforcement and transformation of dangerous rural houses in other provinces and cities.
