Energy-harvesting wireless sensor network is a combination of energy harvesting,sensor network.It is a multilevel and self-organizing network,which is widely used in environmental parameters monitoring and information collection.Compared to wired sensor network,energy-harvesting wireless sensor network is cheaper and easier to install or maintaining.These features make it a promising sensor network.This thesis is about the design of the energy-harvesting sensor node.Firstly,the structure of the sensor network and the role of the sensor node is discussed.This sensor node needs to harvest energy from the environment in a power plant and sense the temperature of the equipment once every minute.The temperature data is transmitted wirelessly to the routers finally.The sensor node includes an energy harvester,a power management module,a timer and a wireless temperature sensor module.After the experiments on the site and in the lab,harvesting energy from the electromagnetic field is finally chose.Coils which can harvest energy in the environment of the power station are designed.Because the low output voltage of the energy harvesters,a boost converter which uses the structure of charge pump and XFAB 0.35?m process is designed as the power management chip of the sensor node.It pump 0.9V input voltage to 2.3V output and store energy in the super capacitor.This sensor node works in duty-cycle operation.It is realized by a load switch controlled by a timer,which gives a 15 ms width pulse every minute.The temperature data together with the node ID is transmitted wirelessly to routers.The whole sensor node is tested in the lab and the testing results are presented at the end of the thesis.Testing results shows that sensor node can h arvest energy from its environment and transmit temperature data every minute.Its average power is 11?W?...
