Water resources are indispensable to the survival and development of humankind.With the acceleration of globalization,the demand for water resources is increasing day by day.Water shortages and pollution are one of the important factors that limit the development of the world,while China’s water consumption has increased dramatically.Demand and extensive water use methods have made China’s water resources on the verge of being deadly.Therefore,all aspects of the water supply system need to be strictly controlled.In particular,pipe network transportation in the water supply system should be more secure and stable.However,the corrosion of pipelines and different operating modes will greatly affect the water quality of terminal drinking water.The pollution of the pipe network is mainly biological pollution.The main reason is that due to the growth of biofilm on the pipe wall,it can induce pipe corrosion and pond formation,reduce the pipeline’s transportation capacity,and affect the quality of effluent,increase operating costs.Therefore,the secondary pollution control of the pipeline network,especially the biological pollution control,has gradually become the main research content in the field of drinking water supply pipelines.In this study,a laboratory-made pipe network simulation device is used to compare the effluent water quality obtained under different pipe materials,pipe diameters,and pipe ages.The types of pipes were iron pipe,stainless steel pipe and PE pipe and the experiment run 15 months.As for different years of three kinds of pipeline,the ages of pipes were set as 3 years,5 years,10 years of stainless steel tube,10 years,15 years,20 years of PE pipe,30 years,35 years and 40 years of iron pipe,respectively.The different diameter of the pipe were set as DN100,DN200 and DN300.The main test parameters include the attenuation of residual chlorine,turbidity,iron,pH,TOC,and BDOC,etc.Then we systematically discussed the biofilm characteristics of the pipeline under different experimental conditions,including the morphology of the biofilm,changes in the number of bacteria,etc.Finally,according to the above experimental results,the conditions for different parameters under the pollution of the pipeline,relevant pollution control methods have been studied.Combined with the investigation,the most reasonable pipeline pollution control method was selected.HDPE lining method was more effective for jiangyin city renovation problem.The water quality before and after the transformation had been improved significantly.In the future,the laying of drinking water pipe sections should be replaced regularly to avoid long-term use of the same pipe section.Choose the most reasonable method for controlling biological growth for different pipeline properties.
