According to the design of a long-span and combined highway and railway cable-stayed bridge,a finite element model of the whole bridge is established by MIDAS/CIVIL 2017 software based on beam elements. The static and dynamic behavior of the bridge is carried out in detail, and the stability design method of four specifications including AASHTO,JSSC,Eurocode and JTG for compression members in main truss is studied in this thesis.Firstly, the development and characteristics of long-span and combined highway and railway cable-stayed bridges are introduced, and the stability theory of steel compression members is summarized in this thesis. At the same time, the concrete engineering background and scheme design are given, and the simulation of bridge components during modeling is described in detail. In terms of static analysis, the author uses the whole bridge model of MIDAS/CIVIL to calculate the stress and deformation of the structure in the construction stage,as well as the stress and deformation of the structure under dead load, live load, temperature and wind load acting alone or in combination in the operation stage. In the aspect of dynamic analysis, the free vibration periods and modes of the bridge are calculated, and the seismic response of the structure is calculated by response spectrum analysis and time history analysis, respectively,to analyze its seismic performance. Finally, the author introduces the stability design method of four specifications including AASHTO,JSSC,Eurocodes and JTG for compression members in steel bridges, draws corresponding global and local stability curves, and calculates global and local stability reduction factors of related main truss members. Therefore, the author has a comprehensive understanding of the static and dynamic performance of the long-span and combined highway and railway cable-stayed bridges, and has mastered the calculation and analysis methods of such bridges.
