The Atomic Clock a kind of equipment that used to be the Standard of time and frequency,which depends on the spectrum of atomic transition.It has the highest accuracy than any others.It is the best reference of time and frequency that used in the field of aviation,spaceflight,digital communication,internet time awarding,broadcast and television,railway,electric power,etc.It is a important support role in national stratagem and economy.Chip Scale Atomic Clock(CSAC)is a component kind of miniature Atomic Clock,manufactured by methods of IC fabricating.It is based on the theory of Coherent Population Trapping(CPT).It is the main direction of time and frequency's future.It could be used in military and civilian fields widely,insteading of crystal oscillator.On this article,we will research about parts of CPT-CSAC by technics and methods of IC fabricating,and develop grope for a way to realize the CSAC's production.The aim of this article is a sample of CSAC with 2mL volume,less than 150 mW power consumption,and better than 1? s per day time-keeping.Result of this research will provide many useful information for the production in future.This article will process the main points on these technical developments:1)High performance quantum part base on MEMS atomic glass-vesicleWe will use the MEMS technics to manufacture a high performance quantum part.The atomic glass-vesicle manufactured with MEMS technics,is the space for alkali metals atomics to leave and reaction.The size and proportion of buffering gas in it,is the most important thing about spectrum's bandwidth and contrast,which will decides CSAC's frequency stability and accuracy mainly.So it's the main theme of this article.The research of high performance atomic glass-vesicle contains the configuration of MEMS atomic glass-vesicle,the technics of miniature light-through cavity,the technics of alkali metals' s penetrating,the technics of atomic absorbing glass-vesicle's heating,and the technics of buffering gas' s filling.2)The technics of digital and analog circuits SoC with servo system of CSACThe digital servo circuits in CSAC,is mainly used for the function of picking up the error signal in laser frequency and microwave frequency,controlling the TCXO in main loop,controlling the current of VCSEL,controlling the temperature of VCSEL,controlling the temperature of atomic absorbing glass-vesicle,controlling the C-Field(magnetic field)'s value,disciplining the CSAC with reference 1PPS.In this part,we must define the interface of every units first,then ensure the parameter of these chips such as CPU,ADC,DAC,TDC etc.,and finally make the SoC-pipelining.3)Total Design and integrationWe will making the simulation about mechanics,calorifics,optics,and magnetism.We will design the whole CSAC with MEMS/CMOS technics,by achieving the integration of every part,making their thermal situation good,and insuring the function of photic route and circuits.At the same time,we will develop the way to appraise CSAC's performance about free-position and time-awarding application.
