The global energy structure is gradually transforming from traditional conventional fossil fuel to renewable energy;with the large-scale access of increasing renewable energy to power grid,the inherent deviation between renewable energy power generation and load demand has caused great influence onto power grid,and energy storage technology is one of the most feasible ways for the consumption and storage of renewable energy.In this paper,the basic principle of Vanadium Redox Flow Battery(VRB)was studied,and an effective optimal allocation strategy for the energy storage system of Vanadium Redox Flow Battery was proposed after the full consideration of the randomness of wind power and photovoltaic power generation in the power grid,as well as the cost of energy storage battery.Firstly,this paper briefly introduced the basic composition and principle of wind energy,photovoltaic power generation,and energy storage system,summarized the unique advantages of VRB energy storage,proposed mathematical model of VRB,and analyzed its state of charge,open-circuit voltage,and charge-discharge characteristics.Secondly,this paper analyzed the uncertainty of wind power generation,photovoltaic power generation and load demand in renewable energy power grid,put forward the optimal allocation strategy and constraint conditions on this basis,presented the objective function by giving full consideration to the cost of VRB energy storage system,completed the modeling of optimal allocation strategy for energy storage system,and established an effective solution strategy.Finally,the IEEE 33-node power grid model was established for simulation analysis based on established constraint conditions and optimal allocation strategy for an energy storage system,with analyzed the load command curve with the Renewable energy generation,and calculated the optimal rated power and capacity of the VRB using the Genetic algorithm,elaborated the output characteristic and optimization.Which proved that this strategy could effectively promote the consumption and storage of renewable energy,and maintain the reasonable cost of the energy storage system.
