Synthetic insu lators have many ad vantages,including light weight high strength,zere value,good stain resistance,easy transportation and installation,cor,nvenient operation andmaintenance.Synthetic insulators have been widely used in the world.However,syntheticinsulators often have some problems during operation,including lightning flashover,pollutionflash,brittle core,and loss of silicone rubber hydrophobicity.It seriou sly affects the.reliableoperation of the power grid.This paper mainly focuses on the flashover accidents frequently occurring in the power system synthetic insulators in Shaanxi Province in recent years.The optimum parameters of composite insulators and internal electrodes are obtained by changing the size and installation position of composite in,sulators voltage equalizing rings and internal electrodes,using the method of combining simulation calculation with laboratory processing design and testing,using different manufacturers and diffe.rent types of composlite insulators.To reduce or balance the electric field strength and voltage distribution along the surface of composite insylators,thereby reducing the potential safety hazards of flashover and wire breakage during the of composite insulators.At the same time,a new type of innerr electrode insertion and age sharing ring structure is designed through calculation insovation,The new type of inner electrode and voltage-sharing ring are applied to composite insulators.The electric field strength and voltage distribution of insulator umbrella skirt are measured in the labortiory.The exporimentatory.Thes show t at the new type of composite insulator effecti,vely optimizes the voltage distribution and electric field strength of composite insulators,and greatly reduces thesynthesis.Insulators may cause safety accidents to ensure the safe and stable operantion oftransmission lines.The difference between simulation results and laboratory test results isanalyzed and the improvement method is obtained,which makes the research results more perfect.
