The environment of aeroengine is complicated;it should have good sealing performance to guarantee the reliable medium transport in various flight and environment condition so that to guarantee the sufficient pressure and quantity of flow to keep the aeroengine function well.At present,90% of aeroengine pipe system leak issues are caused by the bad sealing performance of pipe connector.Hence,by analyzing the thought and method in this field domestic and abroad,this article gives a finite element analysis(FEA)method which appraises the sealing performance by analyzing contact stress distribution on the contact surface based on ANSYS.In this article,the following aspects are mainly studied:FEA result on typical structure of flared pipe connection shows that within the limits of tightening torque given by standard(20.6 N·m~29.4 N·m)contact stress is a linear distribution on the surface between pipe and flared pipe connection,forming a face sealing with about 1.7 mm width.FEA result on typical structure of flareless pipe connection shows that within the limits of tightening torque given by standard(9.6 N·m~21.4 N·m)contact stress is a linear distribution on the surface between flareless pipe connection and pipe shroud,forming a linear sealing with about 0.6 mm width.FEA result on typical structure of beam seal connection shows that within the limits of tightening torque given by standard(20 N·m~22 N·m)contact stress is a uniform distribution on the surface between male end and female flared end,forming two linear sealing both with about 0.2 mm width,double linear sealing greatly increase the sealing performance and error compensation ability of pipe connection.Comprehensive analyzing on FEA results,within different tightening torque conditions,the relation between contact stress and sealing performance of three different type pipe connection are given,also validate the limits of tightening torque given by standards are proper.Flared pipe connection sealing performance needs a larger tightening torque,and the tightening torque enlargement will not increase the sealing performance but lead out pipe connection structure breakage.Flareless pipe connection has a wide limits of tightening torque,but the required sealing performance only needs a lesser tightening torque.The beam seal connection’s limits of tightening torque is very exactitude which is good for easily assembly control.The results of sealing performance tests prove the FEA method which appraises the sealing performance by analyzing contact stress distribution on the contact surface based on ANSYS is practicable.It can be used for the pipe connection design.At present,Chinese beam seal pipe connector standard is still blank according to the analyzing result on design standard of new type pipe connection.Digesting and absorbing foreign beam seal standards will supply technical support to our standard system establishment which moreover achieve the purpose of guiding connection design,manufacture,test and application.
