The sand-collecting shovel is a key component of the track sand removal vehicle.Aiming at the problems of large impact force and serious edge deformation of the shovel caused by the working process,the stress condition of shovel was studied.The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of sand-collecting and loading of sand collecting shovel by means of discrete element method,and to obtain a method to improve the force condition of the sand-collecting shovel.Firstly,the experimental and numerical simulation status of the discrete element method was analyzed.The paper analyzed and summarized the literature research on the blade cutting in the discrete element method both at home and abroad.On the basis of summarizing the existed experience,the research ideas of this paper has been put forward.Secondly,the simulation model was established.Through parameter calibration and experimental verification,the parameter used in the simulation of sand particles was completed.The model of sand collecting shovel was simplified,and the interaction process between sand-collecting shovel and sand was numerically simulated by discrete element method.As a result,the motion distribution of the particles and the force condition of the sand collecting shovel were obtained.The study found that the simulation by discrete element method can analyze the sand collection process of sand-collecting shovel.Furthermore,the working forces of five similar sand-collecting shovels at different rotation speed and different depth conditions were analyzed and compared,and the morphological distribution of sand particles were also studied.The analysis results showed that the force of the sand shovel was highly correlated with the edge inclination.Research suggested that changing the edge angle of the sand shovel can optimize the force of the shovel.Afterwards,a finite element analysis was carried out on the force of the sand-collecting shovel with five similar edges.The deformation,stress and strain of the sand shovel were analyzed and compared,and the quadratic polynomial curve fitting of the maximum deformation,stress and strain with the change of edge angle was carried out.It was found that the sand shovel edge angle can get better stress when it was near 30 degree.Finally,the sand-collecting experiments were carried out for the straight shovel and the 30 degree shovel.At the same time,the torque of two kinds of sand shovels were measured,and then the measured torque were compared with the torque obtained by discrete element method simulation.The result showed that the experiment was in good agreement with the simulation.It was concluded that an increasing angle of the shovel on the edge is effective for improving the force conditions of the shovel.The research results are helpful to further guide the design and manufacture of sand shovel.At the same time,the research process has a certain reference value for the practical application of discrete element method.
